We have a guest post today from Alberto Martin Rodrigez, a young Spanish scientist who spent the last 3 months as an intern with MES and the Balkan Lynx Recovery Programme. Alberto visited us in Prespa for a three-country workshop on monitoring the lynx and sent us this great photo of the reed beds of Lake Lesser Prespa. All the best, Alberto, with your next adventures. Hopefully see you back here, or in Spain!
"The night had come over us when we arrived for the first time in Prespa national park, after following Chris for an hour up the snaking mountain roads. I didn't know what to expect about this place, but certainly there is no space in our imagination to design it.
We woke up early the next morning and the sun showed us how magnificent the place is, the two enormous lakes surrounded by mountains and the fresh air that renovates the soul of every human life that would visit."
